The fishing grounds on the Great Barrier Reef run for over 180km and encompass such well known areas as the Linden Banks, Ribbon Reefs 1 through 10 and all the way up to the “Rock” itself, Lizard Island. These are the areas that the large Black Marlin breeding females roam up and down during Spring, normally escorted by groups of smaller males. Therefore these are the areas that The Phantom likes to work during that period.
What we have found is that the freedom of live aboard-charters allows us to follow the Marlin bite up and down the reef as required to get the best results for you, the angler. Live-aboard charters can be tailored to suit your needs, including specific overnight locations, menus and also the use of a mothership.
Live-aboard charters are tailored for up to 4 guests, we recommend a 5 day charter to maximise results and increase your chances to locate the large Grander class females and to also allow you to experiance the serenity of watching a sunset while anchored on the actual Great Barrier Reef. Light and Heavy Tackle Day Trips
When not on the Reef The Phantom spends its time fishing the local grounds of South East Queensland, from the Gold Coast to Mooloolaba, and travels up to Townsville around mid August. These grounds are ideally located and allow for full day charters for both light and heavy tackle game fishing. All charters can be tailored to suit your specific requirements, typical day trips leave harbour at 6am and return around 4pm. The meticuluous condition and luxurious nature of the vessel make it ideal for corporate functions. Contact us to discuss your corporate needs or to book a day aboard The Phantom.
Charter Confirmation and Cancellation Policy
For all day trips and Corporate charters the skipper will make contact before 6.00pm on the evening prior to the charter to confirm that the weather is suitable and all parties are right to go. For live-aboard charters contact will be made by the skipper or hostess the week prior and again on the evening before to confirm all transfers etc are in place.
Cancellation due to weather conditions will result in a 100% refund of deposit and rescheduling will be arranged to best suit both parties.
Charter cancellation 14 days prior to a day trip or 21 days prior to a live-aboard charter by the client for any reason will mean a 100% refund of deposit and rescheduling will be arranged to best suit both parties.
Charters cancelled after the time periods noted above will incur full forfeit of the deposit, unless alternate arrangements can be made so as not to disadvantage either party.
Deposits required to confirm bookings will be 20% for each day trip and a 30% total deposit for live-aboard or extended charters. Complete payment to be made prior to departing the marina on the day.
